It's DARK when you're this far from city lights.
That's a lot of stars. There can't be that many stars over Colorado. You try to find constellations you recognize but realize you only know orion and it's the wrong time of year for him.
Your eyes begin to adjust and you can barely make out shapes of trees, under brush, and... eyes?
A twig snaps nearby and the underbrush rustles. The gag in your mouth is the only thing keeping the squeaks of fear in. An animal
growls too close for comfort.
Another branch snaps and the glowing eyes in the distance blink out. A glowing orb appears in there place.
It bobs up and down in the distance, illuminating the shawdowed trees as it grows closer.
A tall, cloaked figure emerges from the trees with a lantern in hand. It illuminates the lower half of his face which is plastered with an amused grin.
"Sorry, I didn't realize some one was tied up out here. I'll come back when you're not so busy."
The lame jokes amuses the man while you roll your eyes. He turns to go, either mocking you or serious about leaving you.
Do you let him?
I can't speak but surely I can get his attention.
He can go. The joke was bad and I'm sure he'll only make things worse.
