Adventure. Fame. Fortune. Immortality. All Await if you survive the fall.

You don't know how to respond you put the handful of berries in your mouth and chew slowly, waiting to see what he does next. What you want him to do is turn around and go back to whatever it was that brought him to the clearly. Or, even better, leave you and the berries alone and go somewhere else entirely. What he does is speak again, a loud, concered sounding statement in that strange language. You shrug, turn around briefly to pluck more fruit, and turn back to him. He raises an eyebrow and speaks again but the language is still foreign to your ears. After a moment he whistles, an impressize feat around those tusks, and grips his staff with both hands. Dark light eminates from the top of the staff and swirls around him.

The light swirls around in a way light doesn't behave and you're thinking it might be a good time to leave but before you can turn it rushes at you. You're enveloped in the strange illumination and can feel the crackle of energy around you. A sense of dread fills your gut and then, suddenly, it's gone.

The sun shines on this little clearing in the forest, a butterfly flits past the troll. You think you see a deer at the edge nibbling on the grass. You shrug and turn back towards the berries as the troll lets out a gutteral roar. It's joined by others whihc makes you turn around again. His friends are back. There's the grouchy paladin, the bored dwarf. You can't see the ranger but he must be able to see if you since there is now an arrow pertuding from your stomach. It hurts and is joined by another. Your desire to eat berries has ceased and no all you want to do is lie down here on the ground. You drift into the darkness and miss out on the wonderful things the paladin does to you.

Did you know you're a wanted race? Dead or alive, I'm afraid.
