Requesting entry to the town is sure way for them to find out you don;t belong and end you little adventure early. But the forest you've
been stuck in all day comes up pretty close to the walls, surely there you can find some dense foliage to hide and sleep until morning.
The forest floor is not comfortable. There are rocks and twigs, and strange noises like the calls or owls and buzzing of insects. There's no way you're going to fall
asleep. And it's too dark, you can't see a thing. You try to cover yourself the best you can with your apron and mentally curse the noises around you. If only they
would stop and let you sleep.
It worked! You must have some sort of magical power in this place. It would make sense. Maybe you somehow casted a sphere of silence or something. No, there's a
scapring and crunching sound, like something walking and/or dragging it's way towards you. Clearly you didn't silence everything, just those annoying owls and bugs.
A warm, wet drop falls on your cheek. Just your luck, it's raining. You wipe it away as another, bigger one falls. The wind is also warm, damn summer temps, and has taken
on a decaying smell. You must have choosen a camp too close to swamp lands, Commerce City smells better than this.
You think about getting up and shuffling through the dark to find a better place to camp but you don't get a chance. Fortunately whatever it was that found your resting place
was quick and efficient. You didn't feel a thing.
This explains why no one was camping outside town.
