That creature is no angel and it's not here to lead you to the paradise promised for living a decent life.
It takes a moment to right yourself and get your feet under you but as soon as you do you run.
You run so fast you almost don't notice the scraped feeling in both of your hands and the tender spot on your head.
As your legs bend and straighten in a rhythmic pump your knees feel scraped up as well, and the possibility of blood trickling down your leg.
But that creature is right behind you and is still moaning your name. It might be getting closer.
Afraid of bony hand touching your shoulder you sprint off again, increasing the distance between you and it.
The mists part and you see a soft glow on the ground. As you draw closer it looks like a body. Your body.
You run up to it and try to touch it but your hand slides through.
The breathy voice calls again, closer, right behind you.
A glance over your shoulder shows it's a few steps behind but has drawn a sword.
The blade is licked by light blue flames, the only color in this landscape of black and white.
The pinpoints of light the creature has in place of eyes look to your body on the ground.
When it notices you looking it holds up a single finger and points to the vortex.
Where do you chose to spend eternity?
I'd rather the abyss than rotting to nothing
My sould shall rest where it's resided the past few decades, in my body.
