The rotting log doesn't so much move when you push it aside as crumble into pieces.
You lift the large bits and many legged creatures scatter from the touch of light.
Several crawl straight onto your waiting hand.
There's a beetle of some sort, a couple of spiders, and a centipede or millipede or something with far too many legs.
The beetle looks too crunchy and spiders are spiders so you pick up the centipede and watch it squirm before gathering the nerve to pop it in your mouth.
It crunches as you bite down and the little legs are still moving, tickling your tongue.
A bitter flavor hits your tongue and you gag, unable to force yourself to swallow.
You're not eating bugs so what shall it be instead?
Mushrooms
Berries
Pretty sure I have prepackaged convenience on me.
